|Description:||LSI currently seeks an occasional (less than 24 hours/week) Caseworker within the Services for People with Disabilities program in the Waterloo area.|
|Duties:||This position in our Supported Community Living (SCL) program supports, assists, and instructs learning independent living skills like money management, socialization, cooking, and personal hygiene to individuals with chronic mental illness or developmental disabilities in order to facilitate personal growth and independence. |
Caseworkers need to maintain knowledge and understanding of prevailing societal attitudes and the opportunities for person with disabilities to participate fully in the community. This position should know basics of outcome-based performance measures and develops Individualized Service Plans which are functional and reflective of goals of individuals served.
|Qualifications:||Qualified applicants will have a Bachelors Degree (BA/BS) in human services, education or human services related field. One year of related experience preferred. If working with consumers under the Community Mental Health Waiver, one full-time year of experience is required (2080 hours).|
This position requires a valid Driver's License, Auto Insurance, a good driving record and the ability to pass an extensive background check including checks of the Dependent Adult and Child abuse registries, Sex Offender registry and a criminal history check.
